Hey what’s up, what’s up, what’s up?! It was a hell of a week, with everything going on in the U.S. However, I am very encouraged by the movement, dialogue and protests and I’m optimistic that change will come. Black lives matter and we all have to do what we can to fight racism however we can. Today’s blog post was a great distraction and I’m so glad to share these 10 wearable Summer 2020 fashion trends.
Whenever I do any trends posts, I do a lot of research but more importantly, I’m all about wearable pieces. There are pieces that look great on the runway but don’t translate into wearable, everyday looks. I always have an eye out for what everyday women like us can wear. Here are my 10 picks for the Summer. Check them out and let me know what you think!
Bermuda shorts have always been one of my faves because they can easily be dressed up or down and come in different options from denim to stripes and in-between.
The Spring and Summer 2020 runways featured various Bermuda looks, especially Bermuda shorts suits.
But not to worry, even though we’re not back to the usual dressing up for work, there are lots of cute informal looks you can rock this Summer.
Pair with slides, wrap sandals, wedges, mules or sneakers.
For date night or a girls night in, pair with heels.
Chartreuse is one of those fun colors that definitely catches the eye! It’s 50% green and 50% yellow so it’s a combo color.
Chartreuse has been having a moment since last year and is once again, one of the colors of the season this year.
According to Canva, it’s a color that symbolizes healing and a healthy lifestyle. It also combines the vitality of green with the optimism of yellow.
See below for ideas about colors to pair it with. Try other colors that go with green and yellow, like red. Softer colors like shades of blue and grey or neutrals and metallics.
The puff sleeve is another trend that hasn’t lost any steam and is a very wearable trend.
What I love about it is that embellished detail on a top, dress, jumpsuit, romper…can instantly elevate a simple look. Check out this post here for more on how to wear puff sleeves.
Open back aka backless is another fun Summer trend.
This trend is very wearable and even if you’re not comfortable baring your back, guess what?! You can layer with a tube or tank like I did in the above photo.
According to Vogue UK, “…the humble button-down is back on the agenda, being paired with everything from glamorous floor-filling skirts at Dior to boxy leather trousers at Lacoste.”
Everyone has a button down shirt in their closet! That’s what I love about this.
You can roll up the sleeves for a casual chic look.
Wrapped ankles are all the rage and you’ll see ladies tying their ankle straps around their pant legs.
It actually creates a cute look. Totally worth trying out.
