Hello beauties! Happy Friday eve! How’s your week going?? Hope it’s going great! It’s THURSDAY!! So down to the final stretch here. I needed extra coffee this week lol Yes! That kinda week! But it’s all good. Actually, one more thing! What is up with this wacky weather?!! If this isn’t evidence that global warming does exist, I don’t know what to say! No joke, we may have snow here in Maryland this Saturday. Yah, I know! Anyhoo, on to business. A runway trend that’s actually wearable=rocking a dress over jeans/pants. Read on for styling tips!
Easy Way to Remix what you already Have in your Closet:
- An easy way to remix what you already have is to pair a dress with jeans or pants.
- You can pick pretty much any dress! I’ve done a wrap dress over jeans to work on a Casual Friday.
- TIP: If a dress is too short for work; just pair it with pants!
- Today’s post features a shift dress.
- For play (brunch, dinner, night out etc.), style with jeans (skinny/distressed/flares).
- For work, style with jeans on a Casual Friday. For any other day, style with pants.
- If you go with a shift dress, you can add a belt to cinch the waist
- I show with a belt and without!
- Complete the look with some heels
- And you’re done!

Thanks Missy, appreciate you stopping by!! Hope the weather on your end is now more Spring-like lol Ours is!
It’s so fun how you put this together. I love the ripped jeans with the dress as it really adds dimension to the look. the colours make it really pop. It’s a hit or miss with this but you definitely hit it! Would love if you can link up to http://the-wardrobe-stylist.com/2016/04/17/diy-brazilian-hair-extensions/
Hi Rania, thank you!! And thanks for stopping by. Yess!! There’s something about the juxtaposition of the ripped jeans and the feminine shift dress that works. I just used Facebook Live to stream a variation this morning showing how I wore that dress as a top paired with a skirt. Pls check it out at Facebook.com/2lookbooks. Will add this post to the link up. Thanks
This is such a smart idea. This dress fits similar to a tunic so it works!

Thanks Michelle! It’s such an easy way to mix up existing pieces! I did a live stream on Facebook today (Facebook.com/2lookbooks) showing how to wear that same dress as a top with a skirt:-)
Hi, I am Ada. I have stopped by before. I love your bold style and all the fun colors you wear. That fun-patterned bright shift dress is beautiful. I love it over the skinny jeans. Great pumps, too. =)
I welcome you to stop by my blog. I recently started a linkup so join me this Thursday and every Thursday. The new linkup is currently live. This outfit is too good not to be shared. Thanks, Ada. =)
