4 Easy Ways to Mix Prints

Hello beauties! Hope your weekend is going great.  I really can’t believe it’s Sunday! Where did the weekend go, really?!? Crazy.  Anyhoo, mixing prints is one of my fave styling combos.  It really isn’t as difficult as it sounds or seems so I encourage you to give it a shot if you haven’t! Here are 4 easy ways to mix prints.

Check out this snippet from a video where I explain the easiest way to mix prints in under a minute:

Choose Two Prints with One Consistent Color:

The very easiest way when starting out mixing prints is to pick two prints or patterns that have a color that’s common to both. For example, pair a floral print that has black, with another print such as black and white stripes. The black in the floral connects the black in the black and white stripes. Easy, right?!

Pair Two Pieces or Accessories with The Same Print in Two Different Colors:

Let’s stick with stripes, for example, since it’s so easy. You can pair a black and white striped top with a skirt that has blue and white stripes. The white connects both.

Another example is taking a striped yellow and white dress and pairing with a pair of blue and white striped sandals.

Opt for Two Variations of the Same Print:

Another simple way to mix prints is choosing two variations of the same print.

With this option, you can take a dress with a big polka dot print and pair with shoes that have a smaller polka dot print.

Don’t Forget about Accessories:

  • It’s easy to think of just clothes, right, so dresses or tops or bottoms and such.
  • But don’t forget about your shoes and accessories!
  • The tips above apply to shoes and accessories.
  • So you can take a floral dress and pair with striped, polka dot or animal print shoes OR
  • You can pair an animal print top with jeans and a bag with chevron prints, for example.

Last but not Least, Be Confident! You can pull it off!

Thanks as always for stopping by, please don’t be a stranger! Would love to hear from you! Do you love mixing prints??
